And we are talking quinoa and spinach in a creamy sauce!

Loaded with protein, a great vegetarian meal, yes meal because the mushrooms were that big.  If you are sharing one, it can be an appetizer.   It is topped with goat cheese and it is giving such a kick to the dish.

You will love the freshness and strength of the goat cheese is really the perfect addition and balance to the mushroom and its stuffing.

A classic in my home: Lasagna

I love cooking for my family but with 2 children under 4, you will have to be organized.  And to be able to serve a homemade meal to them, I cook a recipe double or triple and freeze it.


We all try to be on top of our daily routine and chores but the truth is, it is hard.  I have been back from vacations for 2 weeks and I already need some more.  One week break does not cut it with the energy and effort we put into running our daily life smoothly.

I think we all need comfort at this point: cauliflower gratin.

That is right!  Last day of February and -26C this morning.  I tend to think that Spring will never come around…  This is a long and tough winter (Well, at least for me, I am from South of France, remember?).  My previous winters, since 2006, have not been that brutal.

I am not asking for 20C (although, I would not complain) but just anything in positive degree… Please, please, Winter go away! Am I the only one here?  All together.  PLEASE, PLEASE, WINTER GO AWAY!  It might work :)!

In the meantime, I have a simple recipe to propose.  It is super comforting and the entire family will love it.   It is creamy, it is warm and it is what you need this weekend.

Don’t judge a book by its cover because those Croque-Monsieurs are delicious!

There are some food that, even if there are tasty, it is hard to make them look appetizing…   The Croque-Monsieur that follow is not the most appealing one.  Plus, my picture is not recent, I would have done it differently maybe but still… not that good looking.  I am working on it!  Certain meals or dessert are sometimes difficult to take a picture of but it is my role to make you want to try them.  One that one, I hope you will give those Croque-Monsieur a try, sooo worth it!

Now that you know how to do a bechamel, it is going to be an easy and quick recipe!  And, since it is Superbowl season and finger are trendy, you HAVE to give it a chance.

How to make a bechamel sauce you can be proud of.

I don’t where you are reading me from but, here in Canada, the weather is calling for comfort food!  It is awfully cold!  Today, I will not share a recipe but more of a tutorial or a base I should say.   Sometimes, French word can intimidate and then, people think it is too fancy and complicated!  Well, I am going to break the news to you, it is very easy!

What is a bechamel? It is a French sauce that is used for dish such as lasagna, gratins, croque-monsieur, etc… I will give you the recipes for those soon!
You can add cheese to the bechamel and it is then actually called a Marnay sauce.
