Classic French brioche

By on September 12, 2014

The sweet taste of the buttery pull apart bread is so irresistible.   You have one bite, you are still chewing that you go for the second bite already.  That good.  I love it for breakfast too, with some (more) butter spread on it and some fig jam from my Maman.

I would share the bread and I have, it was a success.   I made some more.  But the jam…. No no, not negotiable.  It is gold and strategically portion until the next French visits and can get some more for me from my mom.

It is moist and chocolatey but… oops, some vanilla there!  Great sensations in a bite!  You might want another piece if you are a dunker, you will love it!

Fruity smoothie and healthy raspberry muffins for #FRD2014

By on May 17, 2014

The campaign is finished for today but you should apply Jamie Oliver’s message every day.  Involve your kids in the kitchen, teach them to eat healthy and have fun!

#FRD2014 raspberry muffins

That is right, a one bite treat that is actually healthy!  Very little sugar so your kids will not be over-exited with a sugar-rush.  Ah!  Those are awful.  For their little body and teeth.  And us.

As I was able to participate to the Food Revolution Day any other way than virtually, I decided to prepare healthy things the evening before and delivered them on the D-Day.

Breakfast for dessert: Healthier banana pancakes

By on March 27, 2014

As you may know, I grew up in France and there are a few things here that gets me exited like a little girl! Like breakfast for dinner.  I did not grew up with this.  Well, not the sam at least.  We did used to do ”Crêpes for dinner”.

Anyhow, the part I am totally crazy about pancakes! Those fluffy buttery guys!  Yummy!
The other night, I had some bananas looking quite unhappy and a pancake craving.  Dinner was already cooking…  Oh well, let’s do breakfast for dessert!  So were born so nice, healthier, fluffy banana pancakes!  Needless to tell you that there were no leftover.

By on March 7, 2014

And it is a tight!  Mhh actually maybe Winter and stomach flu probably won… I am just back on my feet after 4 days totally knocked off by a stomach flu. El Cubano too.  It was worst even. Picture this: the parents feeling sick on the sofa and a 18 months and a 3-year-old putting the living room upside down!  Thankfully, I have wonderful in-laws that saved our lives! To make this short and sweet, I just wanted to tell you all, let’s kick Winter out and for that you will need a boost of vitamins! Green Smoothie
