French Chocolate Pot de crème

chocolate pot de creme

Chocolate Pot de crème. French dessert? French name? This sounds fancy! Don’t you feel that it will impress a crowd? If anything, it will please a crowd and that’s actually the most important. I truly think you can go wrong with chocolate, any season, any time of the day, any gender, any age, it’s a magic word!

Cho-co-lat.

Ouh lala! Also, a pot de crème is the cousin of the crème brûlée and the brother of la crème aux oeufs.

Not only it’s the decadent dessert you’ll want to do again soon as you bring the first spoon to your mouth but also because it’s so simple you’ll want to make a ‘pot de crème’ to your loved ones and use your sexy French accent.

French clichés and French crêpes!

By on April 7, 2014

How about a little list?

1 – I do have a French accent and it is cute!  I am proud of it!
2 – I love stinky cheese, specially an old runny camembert.
3 – I like to complain, it is just part of my day, I know it is bad, I am working on it though!

Alright, I will stop here actually, because I know that French people have some unflattering clichés too…  Strikes, no shaving (!!), smelling bad (now come on, who spread those things?)  Ahah, this is quite funny!

I do love the clichés that makes me a Chef because I am French, oh la la!  I definitely have a je-ne-sais-quoi!  So for now, I will share my French crêpes recipe with you:

A family affair: the cousin of the crème brûlée, la crème aux oeufs

By on February 23, 2014

This recipe, la crème aux oeufs or custard or pudding,  is in fact a recipe affair because it is my Maman’s!  What a success that recipe has in the house!  I really like that recipe compared to the crème brûlée because you are using the entire eggs not just the yolks.   Also, I always have milk for sure in the fridge, the heavy cream not all the time.  Crème brûlée is still my favorite though.

The consistency is still creamy but less richer and heavy.  It makes the perfect not-too-sweet dessert for all ages of the family.  Oh and did I mention how easy and quick it is?
